Sony KDL-47W805 HDTV Review

One of the new Sony HDTVs is the KDL-47W805. This TV has a 47 inch screen, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and LED backlighting. Today, the writers from Ecoustics released a review of this particular device. The writers were very impressed with the Sense of Quartz design that provides a pleasing look to any room. They also thought the connection panel provided an ample amount of connection options. The only real gripe the writers had was with the Smart TV interface. They thought it was rather basic when compared to other systems. The image quality was for the most part decent, but they did think the contrast was a letdown and could have been better. The final verdict the writers made was, “The Sony 47W805 is a seriously promising TV. Its design is cute, its specification list looks strong with its video-friendly online TV service and potent picture processing, and most important of all it shares a stable with Sony’s imperious W905 models. We have no doubt, either, that many users – especially families – will feel drawn to the television because it’s Sony’s first to use passive rather than active 3D technology. However, there’s a slight lack of sophistication about the interface employed for accessing the Sony 47W805?s multimedia services, and more alarmingly the TV’s mostly robust picture quality is let down by a number of difficulties when it comes to showing dark scenes convincingly.”
