LG Announces Plans for a new OLED Display Factory

LG has been a major supporter of OLED screens. Today, the company announced that they plan to build a new 5.5-Gen AMOLED plant for 2012. The whole purpose of this plant will be to manufacture large sized OLED TV panels. Some of the screens can measure as big as 50”. However, the company’s CEO was also quoted to say that LG has no plans to mass produce large OLED screen until at least 2014. So at least with LG it doesn’t look like we will see OLED screen with in the near future.
