Panasonic is proud to announce that they have started shipping of their latest plasma HDTV, the TC-P58S1. This 58” display features full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a native 40000:1 contrast ratio with the ability to display a 2000000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Panasonic calls the S1 series a “no frills” HDTV line, which means that it has high quality, high contrast, highly detailed images, but doesn’t come with all the extra online features like Amazon videos, YouTube, Weather Channel, or any other online widgets. Panasonic designed this display for consumers who only desire a HD display. The connection panel includes three HDMI ports, dual component and composite inputs, an s-video and even RGB ports for computer access. The HDTV is already available though Panasonic’s website and retails for the suggested retail price of $2295.
