Review: We bought this television after a great deal of research Superbowl weekend. We came home the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend to find the television would no longer come on (only 4 mths after purchase). We called Philips and they told us the name of a repair person, who was not available until after the holiday. We called and realized the repair person was over an HOUR away and would not come. Called Philips back, they "escalated" our call and told us it would be 24/48 hours before anyone could get back with us that they did not have any one closer. Two days later, a representative calls and says there is a certified Philips repair technician twenty minutes away and to call them. We do, and after speaking with someone two different times, get an appointment to come the next morning. They literally come in and take the television. It is now July 10th, and I am staring at a blank wall! The repair company does not call us, we have had to call them repeatedly, and finally had to call Philips to get them to call back. They claimed they ordered one part, and that did not work and they were ordering another part. Then a week later we went through the same calling ordeal to find out, that new part was defective and they were ordering a new one "that day". It has been another week, so we called on Wednesday, Philips said to give them until Friday and if we had not heard from them by then, to call back. We called back yesterday and Philips said, "They are so sorry it is taking so long. The repair company is doing the best they can and Philips is trying to get the parts to them as quickly as possible." If we do not hear anything by Tuesday or Wednesday, we are suppose to call back. We are so frustrated and would NEVER have bought this television if we had known the problems we would not only have with it, but with simply having it repaired! DO NOT BUY THIS TELEVISION!

Pros: Excellent picture quality. Bright and blacks are rich.
Standard TV looks fantastic on this Tv alot of people complain about the quality of thier standard picture on thier HDTV's but this one at times I mistake standard Tv for HD that's how great standard TV looks.
HDTV is simply awesome the picture is sharp as can be I have gotten many good comments regarding the picture quality. Ofcourse everyone must calibtrate thier TV's You can't expect your picture to be perfect out of the box but even out of the box the picture still was fantastic just way to bright.
The case is a nice finish black with a clear strip around the edges looks good.
Plenty of HDMI ports for todays hardware Blurays consoles and whatever else you want to connect.
USB port supports Pictures and MP3.
Bought almost 1 year ago and still has a beautiful picture.

Cons: Sound this is the only down side to this television while the sound is clear and has some very little bass.
You have to really crank the volume up to hear any voices I have to put volume to 50% to really hear talking but ofcourse every other sound is ridiculously loud. Don't bother using the volume level then you won;t hear a thing.
Mostly guess they are so low because the speakers are mounted behind the Television so speakers sound hits the wall behind it.
Also took notice there is no optical output which I found odd since it has every other needed port.

Review: All considered picture quality and price point this TV can not be beaten.
Sure the sound could be better. But i've looked at HDTV's that cost more and do not have the picture quality this TV has.
If your a movie buff this Tv will do wonders for the picture quality but for sound be prepared to buy a surround sound system.

Pros: The picture was clear and the colors were very good, very dark blacks and great contrast

Cons: It died in less than two and a half years.

Review: I bought this TV in December of 2009 at Sams Club for $1100, and in April of 2012 less than two and a half years after purchase, it no longer will display a picture. Several times I have unplugged and waited as long as overnight, but the TV still will not display a picture, just sound. Do not buy this TV or any Philips TVs, unless you like throwing away money.
